Stalker should i join a faction

User Info: thepwnis. Actually, you are able to join Freedom in the vanilla game, but not any other faction. I am not completely sure that how it is done to join Freedom, but I believe it's possible after completing every single side mission for them. If someone can clarify how, then please do. For joining Stalkers, Bandits will become enemy and vice versa, For joining Duty, Freedom will become enemy and vice versa.

Renegades , Monolith and Military cannot be joined natural enemies. Even though it's advised to join a faction, the player can remain totally neutral to all factions, excluding natural enemies. By this way, you'll get all factions service excluding member-only services unique equipment etc. Instead of directly joining a faction, the player can only "side" with a faction.

At Skadovsk player can stay neutral, side with Sultans bandits or Loners free stalkers. For vice versa, just the opposite happens Boss achievement. At Yanov , almost the same happens. Just the siding groups are changed Duty or Freedom. Choice at Skadovsk doesn't affect your siding options at Yanov, and vice versa.

If you join freedom you can't go to the bar and you'll get shot on sight by the guards there.

If you want to go pure gameplay don't join either. If you side with one the other will never again let you interact with them and you'll lose out on interesting quests. But what's the disadvantages of not joining a faction? In Shadow of Chernobyl without any mods installed, it's purely story related, and offers nothing but gameplay disadvantages with no actual gameplay advantages.
